Despite Fewer Hits, Thomas County Central Beats Alpharetta Raiders Varsity
Alpharetta Raiders Varsity out-hit Thomas County Central seven to four, but it wasn’t enough in a 5-3 loss on Friday
Alpharetta Raiders Varsity got things started in the first inning when Santiago Montiel singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Thomas County Central pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Zach Fletcher hit a solo homer and RJ Delaney homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.
Jaylen Jones was on the mound for Thomas County Central. He allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one.
Drew Sutton got the start for Alpharetta Raiders Varsity. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out two. Anthony Gauthier threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.
Thomas County Central launched two home runs on the day. Fletcher had a dinger in the fourth inning. Delaney went yard in the fourth inning.
Alpharetta Raiders Varsity totaled seven hits. Leon Gomez, Montiel, and Nadir Lewis each collected multiple hits for Alpharetta Raiders Varsity. Lewis, Montiel, and Gomez each managed two hits to lead Alpharetta Raiders Varsity.
Fletcher went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Thomas County Central in hits.
