Alpharetta Raiders Varsity Defeats Peachtree Ridge In Pitcher’s Duel
Both teams were strong on the mound Monday, but Alpharetta Raiders Varsity defeated Peachtree Ridge 3-1. Alpharetta Raiders Varsity pitchers allowed just four hits to Peachtree Ridge.
In the first inning, Peachtree Ridge got their offense started. Luke Jones’s sac fly scored one run for Peachtree Ridge.
Charlie Goldstein earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Alpharetta Raiders Varsity. He allowed two hits and one run over three and a third innings, striking out one. Cole Hamel and Drew Sutton entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Sutton recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Alpharetta Raiders Varsity.
Thomas LeMaster took the loss for Peachtree Ridge. He allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six.
Drew Beiger went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Alpharetta Raiders Varsity in hits. Alpharetta Raiders Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Beiger had the most chances in the field with seven.
Kohl Nguyen led Peachtree Ridge with two hits in three at bats.
