Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, Alpharetta defeated Johns Creek 15-5 on Monday. The big inning for Johns Creek came thanks to a single by #12 and a double by Zach Hall.
Alpharetta got things moving in the first inning. Ben Browning drove in one when he doubled.
Alpharetta scored five runs in the third inning. The rally was led by singles by Nadir Lewis and Justin Kirby and a groundout by Drew Beiger.
Charlie Goldstein was the winning pitcher for Alpharetta. He surrendered four runs on three hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 12. Devin Jewell threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Jack Ferguson took the loss for Johns Creek. He surrendered nine runs on seven hits over two and a third innings, striking out four.
Alpharetta tallied 17 hits on the day. Matthew Wilson, Santiago Montiel, Beiger, Josh Maicon, Kirby, and Bradley Rowlinson all managed multiple hits for Alpharetta. Wilson went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Alpharetta in hits.
