Five unearned runs in the first inning were enough to seal the fate of the freshman team on a cold Thursday evening. Alpharetta did their best to chip away at the lead, but came up short to end at 5-4 in favor of North Forsyth.
The Alpharetta bats scattered five hits across the game, but nine strikeouts limited the chance of tying anything together. On the other side of things, pitchers Baylor Bice and Harrison Goldstein limited North Forsyth to just two hits and three walks combined, while striking out five.
Alpharetta takes the field again on Friday at Forsyth Central at 5:55.
