Alpharetta High School
Northview High School
In a game where a blown whistle for something happening 10 feet from the ball with 2.5 seconds to go stopped a drive to the basket by Croix Bethune, the Lady Raiders fell to the Northview Lady Titans by one point Thursday night, 41-40. Befitting a game between two talented teams, the first half saw tough play inside and outside with the teams playing long, disrupting shots at either end of the court. Northview drew clear with a dominating start to the second half, and lead by 12 points, 30-18 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Lead by tenacious defense at all positions, clutch shooting by Croix and a string of made free throws, reversing a trend from the first half, the Lady Raiders slowly closed the gap, drawing even with 2 minutes left in the game. From there, the lead ping-ponged between the teams with Northview going up by 1 with 10 seconds left in the game, setting the stage for the last second drama.
The Lady Raiders were lead in scoring by Croix Bethuneâs 13 points, followed by Jalyn Tillerson and Gogo Maduka with 7 each. Juju Maduka had 6 point and Chandler Davis 5. Kendall Phillips rounded out the scoring with 2.
Cheer the Lady Raiders as they begin their second pass through Region teams with a game Tuesday January 10th at Dunwoody High School. Game time is 5:30.
