The Alpharetta Lady Raiders began their march into the state basketball tournament with a 53 – 35 defeat of the Cambridge Lady Bears Tuesday evening. Seeded 3rd in the Region playoff series, the Lady Raiders jumped out to a quick 1st quarter lead that they never relinquished for the remainder of the game. Lead by Kendall Phillips hot hand, eight different players scored to lead a balanced attack where shots dropped from all points of the court. Kendall hit 13 points and added 6 rebounds for her strong performance. Gogo Maduka added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, followed closely by sister, Juju who hit for 8, pulled down 10 rebounds and added a blocked shot. Allie Hood and Croix Bethune added 6 points each, with Jalyn Tillerson knocking down 4. Grace Knutsen and Chandler Davis added 3 points each to round out the scoring.

With this win, the Lady Raiders guarantee a trip to state, and play for seeding the remainder of the region tournament. Join the team Friday evening at 7:00 as they take on the Chattahoochee Cougars, with the winner advancing to the region championship game Saturday.
